by Peer G. Dudda

Part I

Train go sorry
I missed the boat
Your silence
Silenced me

You gave me a voice
And I spoke for you
For twelve years, my hands were
Kept still by ignorance

When they danced
You looked away
You missed the boat
Train go sorry

Part II

I missed the boat
Train go sorry
You gave me words
My hands danced

Twelve years of ignorance
Not quickly washed away
I had another voice
A tie to family

I spoke of home
You looked away
Train go sorry
You missed the boat
